Skate Palace is operated by David and Patty Leazier and Sheila Gladhill. Patty and Sheila have been friends for more than thirty years and actually began skating at Turner's Skate Palace in 1974. Former members of the Hagerstown Road Runners, they competed on a regional and national level.
Patty and Sheila are also the coaches for the Fast Forward Racing inline-speed team. Fast Forward is one of the premier teams in the nation with regional, national, and international champions.
The duo is hoping to bring family rollerskating entertainment back to Turner's Skate Palace. Patty's family is actively involved in the facility's operation, including their son Dylan and their new daughter Piper. As a matter of fact, it is only a matter of time before Piper laces up her skates hits the floor too!
Community involvement is a core part of the rink's identity as the Leazier family and Sheila strives to provide a family oriented atmosphere for children, teenagers, and adults. The Leazier's and Sheila plan to host activities for the community to ensure that the area's youth have a safe and exciting environment for entertainment skating, dancing, and family outings.
The Skate Palace is your entertainment specialists: friendly staff, well-maintained facility, edited and age-appropriate music, and, of course, LOTS OF FUN! The traditional hardwood floor offers ample skating room measuring 76 x 175 with a Roll-on coating for grip and traction.
Skate Palace also provides themed overnighters and parties for the skaters and has many activities available for the non-skaters (skates not required to participate) including dancing, arcades, Play Zone, and MoonBounce. The Palace also offers a fully stocked snack bar, pro shop, stuff shop, and DJ booth for music requests.
Welcome to Turner’s Skate Palace, the tri-state area's family roller skating and entertainment center. Turner’s Skate Palace is conveniently located in western Maryland, accessible by Interstate 70 and 81.
